Arjun Srinivasan Ambalam is a Robotics graduate student at the University of Maryland, College Park with a keen interest in computer vision, machine learning algorithms, and deep learning. With a relevant work experience of 2.86 years, Arjun has previously worked with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles where he contributed to innovation projects such as the Intelligent Air Vent system that uses machine learning to automate and optimize air delivery. Arjun is passionate about deploying machine learning models to robotic and industrial systems. Currently, he is working on Machine learning in Manufacturing applications such as Shape prediction of diamond crystals and fault prediction of fiber composites. He is keen to collaborate with individuals and organizations working on similar projects and is always open to exchanging ideas and striking up interesting conversations. Arjun's technical skills include programming languages such as C, C++, Python, and MATLAB. He is proficient in software tools and libraries such as TensorFlow, Pytorch, OpenCV, SQL, Pandas, Jupyter Notebook, STL, Git, Solid Works, ROS, MS Office, and Simulink. He has hands-on experience working with hardware such as IMU, RGB Cameras, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, load sensors, and Industrial servo motors and Controllers. Currently working as an AI Developer at Fraunhofer USA Center Mid-Atlantic (CMA), Arjun has previously worked as a Research Assistant Intern at Fraunhofer USA Center Mid-Atlantic (CMA) and as a Computer Vision Intern at SimInsights Inc. At Fraunhofer, he worked on Deep learning-based Shape prediction of crystals during manufacturing with a limited amount of dataset and Automation of inspection process in manufacturing fiber composites using classical computer vision and deep learning-based fault analysis. At SimInsights Inc., he worked on Object detection and Pose estimation for custom factory objects, created synthetic datasets using Texture, Scene, and viewpoint randomization in Unity 3D, and used the YOLOv3 object detection framework with Resnet-18 architecture. Arjun's education history includes a Master's degree in Robotics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. He completed his schooling from DAV Gopalapuram.
